What made you want to start your own business / or work for your company?
I have worked in Recruitment for 24 years. I worked for Hays, Reed and Hillman Saunders in London. My clients really believed in me they constantly pressed me to set up my own business. I had a mortgage 2 young children I had a great job working for Hillman Saunders, however, they went into administration so I took the leap. I knew I was a good recruiter but I had never ran a business although I manged teams that side of the role scared me. I can honestly say I have learnt along the way. I have made many mistakes but hard work and a good team around me we can achieve anything. We believe in treating customers fairly and we have a honest approach. We are a good bunch.
Why was Bury Businesslodge chosen as a location / how long have you been here?
I have always worked in Manchester and London I was fed up being stuck in traffic , leaving the house at 7 am getting home at 7pm . I was worried initially clients would prefer me to be in a city but it is quite the opposite. Since COVID-19 most people have to change their mind set we have most meetings on Zoom . I do prefer face to face . The office in Bury Business Lodge is perfect for us and our clients too.
Are you based in any other location?
We have an office in London
Are you planning anything exciting in the near future… personal or business?
We would like to expand the business, we are looking for the right kind of people to join our team. On a personal note I would like to see as many live acts, bands as I can. Looking to go away in August too.
What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?
Listen to what your customers need.
You’re on a team night out, where do you go?
Oh gosh we like nice places. Food somewhere nice like The Ivy, Tattu and we like have cocktails and a dance so maybe Revolution de Cuba. Then a kebab on the way home hahahaha.
