What made you want to start your own business / or work for your company?

Creative Kids was started more than 25 years ago with the goal of bringing quality, safe kids’ products to the market at various price points, allowing consumers of many economic statuses to have access.

Why was Bury BusinessLodge chosen as a location / how long have you been here?

Creative Kids is a brand new member of the Bury BusinessLodge family! We were attracted by the central location and space allowed to present our products.

Are you based in any other location?

Creative Kids has offices in New York, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Belarus.

Are you planning anything exciting in the near future… personal or business?

Creative Kids will be launching several new product lines including Nickelodeon Slime!

The St. Bart’s Multi-Academy Trust (Central Team) are delighted to join the BusinessLodge family at Trent House having moved into offices on 10th July 2023.  Previously, the trust were based at its sponser academy (Belgrave St. Bartholomew’s Academy, Longton) since its incorporation in 2013.

We are a West Midlands based Trust, spanning 4 local authorities (Cheshire East, Shropshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire).  Since moving to BusinessLodge, our trust has grown from 19 primary academies (age 3 to 11) to 22 including Abbey Hill Academy and College (age 3 to 19).  This brings our total number of pupils to over 7000 and employees to over 1100.
Our core business is to advance education and our mission is to provide the best education and curriculum in all our schools, enabling every child to realise their full potential.

  • Ear wax removal: We perform micro-suction, irrigation, and manual removal, tailoring the method to what our professionals deem most suitable for you. Our commitment is to safely remove ear wax using state-of-the-art equipment. At I Love My Ears, our audiologists excel in the safest method for ear wax removal—micro-suction. Throughout the procedure, our team of specialists provides guidance and valuable advice on maintaining optimal ear health. We are HBB PCN (or Hanley, Bucknall & Bentilee Primary Care Network).

What services or products do you offer?

A PCN is ‘A PCN is a group of GP practices working closely together, aligned to other health and social care staff and organisations, providing integrated services to their local population.’
In short, our PCN is made up of 4 local GP Surgeries: Moorcroft Medical Centre, Harley Street Medical Centre, Potteries Medical Centre & Cambridge House Surgery.

How many team members are currently employed – who are they and what do they do?

Our PCN has a designated workforce made up of 24 staff (both clinical and non-clinical) as-well as a PCN Clinical Director. Our team help to support the smooth running of our PCN surgeries and support the surgery staff to enhance integration between primary care and community services.

Our team is made up of physiotherapists, clinical pharmacists, paramedics, social prescribers, health and wellbeing coaches, a healthcare assistant, GP Assistants, Mental Health Practitioners and a designated administration team.

Why was Trent House chosen as a location?

Our team chose Trent House as it is at the heart of the City, and central to our 4 practices.

We use our office here at Trent to do our admin duties and conduct remote telephone consultations.

How long have you been here?

We have been at Trent since November 2022.

You’re on a team night out, where do you go?

If we were to go on a team night out….ours would be anything involving food! We’re big foodies in this office!

Meet Wiser Academy

The insurance industry is fast-evolving and hungry right now for new recruits.

Wiser Academy’s over-arching goals are:

  1. To deliver and develop the highly qualified professionals the sector needs to compete, strengthen and grow.
  2. To provide the robust continual development programmes insurance companies require to thrive.
  3. To source exciting new talent, qualifying outstanding school and college leavers and graduates into the sector.
  4. To attract and train learners from other sectors, bringing sought-after transferrable skillsets and insights.

Tell us who you are?

Samuel Onions – Insurance and Apprenticeship trainer. Food obsessed, friendly face and my mum (Jackie) makes the best brownies.

Where did the name for the company come from?

Wiser Academy comes from the name of an Insurance broking firm called BeWiser. There was a conscious uncoupling from the parent firm as the L+D department knew the potential of their offering to the wider insurance sector! We headed out on our journey in 2014.

What services or products do you offer?

A range of apprenticeships that are applicable to the insurance industry: L3, L4 and L6 (Cert, DIP and ACII qualification included). We have an insurance degree program and an “Excellent” rating from OFSTED. We have launched an Account Executive Program to focus on supporting Sales Skills and Business tasks

What made you want to start your own business / or work for your company?

A fresh challenge with an opportunity to use my experiences. I only planned to be good at my job. However, I’ve been given so many new experiences, exposures and developments in my 12 months that I can say that the Academy do just as much for its staff as the apprentices it supports.

Why was Trent House chosen as a location / how long have you been here?

I came because office because it was close to me – I stayed because of the wonderful people and staff that work here (12 months)

Are you based in any other location?

We have another office (head office) in Andover, Hampshire

Are you planning anything exciting in the near future… personal or business?

We are always looking to expand our offering and bring new ideas to the market. We have plans to work in areas outside of the insurance sector too! Watch this space.

Listen carefully and Keep it simple

You’re on a team night out, where do you go?

Normally a nice restaurant is involved – like a steakhouse. We do seem to be regulars at the theatre as well!

I’ve worked in electronics for over 40 years and love being able to pass on all my knowledge and experience through the training courses we provide.

Why was Bury Businesslodge chosen as a location / how long have you been here?

Initially I hired meeting rooms, but was so impressed with the facilities and the staff at Business Lodge I moved in permanently over 2 years ago.

Are you based in any other location?

We have offices in the Netherlands and Brazil.

Are you planning anything exciting in the near future… personal or business?

We are hoping to expand our training team in the next couple of months.

What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?

Give the customer exactly what they want!!
